Safety Assessment Report / CPSR
Safety Assessment Report for Cosmetic Products
Every cosmetic product must be subjected to a safety assessment by a qualified person before being placed on the Turkish market.
The relevant safety assessment constitutes part B of the cosmetic product safety report and is therefore one of the most important parts of the product information file. The cosmetic product safety assessment is carried out based on part A, which provides cosmetic product safety information and includes documents such as:
* Cosmetic product formulation,
* Raw material properties and toxicological profiles of the substances used,
* Physical and chemical properties of the finished product,
* Microbiological quality and Preservative Efficacy Test results,
* Stability of the cosmetic product and its compatibility with the packaging,
* Packaging material information,
* Information regarding normal and reasonably foreseeable use of the product,
* Other information that the product manufacturer may provide regarding the cosmetic product.
The safety assessor examines the specified information and documents. Checks and evaluates whether the ingredients used in the product are restricted or prohibited in Turkey, the accuracy of other information regarding the cosmetic product, and whether the tests were performed correctly. Based on this, based on the no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL), then calculates the safety margins (MoS) and prepares the cosmetic assessment report.
